Type Approval for Trailers
Type Approval requirements for Trailers and other special purpose vehicles are catered for in the annexes to the existing Framework Directive - 70/156/EEC as amended. During October 2007, the long awaited amendment to the Type Approval Framework Diretive was paublished. Directive 2007/46/EC introduces the basis of a European wide approval scheme for Trailers. The legislation will be implemented over coming years and the following linked documentation is intended to provide more information. In the meantime, existing National arrangements will continue to apply.
