QS-9000 is due to expire, are you ready?

QS-9000 certification is set to expire on the 14th of December 2006.

What are my options?

QS-9000 production part supplier - update to ISO/TS 16949.
QS-9000 TE supplement tooling and equipment supplier - update to the ISO 9001:2000 standard with an IATF recognized ISO/TS registrar.
Do nothing and go out of business.

ISO/TS 16949 has rapidly become the Internationally recognized quality standard for automotive-specific suppliers. ISO/TS 16949 has replaced QS-9000 as the key automotive third party certification standard. Certification to this standard has many potential benefits. It will expose you to a wider range of customers who increasingly make ISO/TS 16949 a condition of supply.

QS-9000 TE supplement tooling and equipment suppliers must update to ISO 9001:2000 standard with and IATF recognized ISO/TS registrar, such as VCA North America.
